FAQ

What is Staging?

Staging is the process of preparing any home for sale regardless of price or location.  When you get ready to place your home on the market for sale, it becomes a PRODUCT.  To compete with the competition in the marketplace, you must be priced right and look better than all the other products.

When should I Stage my home?

You should Stage your home before listing it on MLS. Once your home has been Staged, it will photograph better, thereby looking better on MLS and in marketing & brochure photos.

The most critical time frame for selling your property is the first 30 days, because the first 2 weeks generates a flurry of activity.

As tempting as it is to sell "as is," statistics show that Staged homes sell faster and for top dollar.

Why should seller's Stage their houses?

Your house is probably your largest asset.  Selling it can be one of the most important decisions you make.  Today's buyers are willing to pay more for a house that is move-in ready; a Staged home is just that.

What is the goal of Staging?

The ultimate goal of Staging is to place the home in the best showcase condition, so it sells at the highest price, in the shortest possible time.  The aim is to make a house appear larger, brighter and more inviting, and if done right, Staging will provide an atmosphere that will make people visualize living there.

Home Stagers are experts at showcasing the positive aspects of a property and to reverse the hundreds of small, misguided design decisions and erase any hints of the messiness of daily life.

Isn't Staging expensive?

Staging is an INVESTMENT in getting a house sold and the investment is always less than a price reduction.  When compared with the other costs associated with the sale or purchase of a home, Staging is very reasonable.  The real question is, can you afford NOT to stage??

What is the difference between Interior Design & Staging?

Staging is NOT decorating or design!  Staging is de-personalizing and selling a strong emotional reaction to a potential buyer.  Decorating or interior design is personalizing a space to suit the homeowner's individual taste.  Home Staging is one of the most powerful marketing tools when selling real estate.  It is merchandising your single most valuable asset.  A Stager needs to understand the competitve real estate environment, research the target buyer of that particular property and understand the aesthetic aspirations of those target buyers.

Interior Design projects can take weeks or months to complete while Staging is done within a matter of a few days.

That is why it is KEY that you hire someone specifically trained to prepare a house for sale.
